LR02 - 1961 Land Rover Series II 88” - “Sage”

Artefact car LR01 was a 1961 Land Rover Series II sourced from the Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia.

Put out to pasture on a farm after living a tough life as a mine vehicle, this car received a full mechanical overhaul and recommissioning. It currently resides back in the Southern Highlands and is a weekend ‘cruiser’ for the new owner.

Sage was another car that needed its history preserved by retaining its original patina. Keeping the ‘farmer’s' rattle can spray job (in what could only have been the gentleman attempting to colour match wildlife green at the hardware stores spray paint aisle), the car also retained layers beneath of both its original bronze green and the bright ‘safety’ orange that adorned the car in its mining days. Paying homage to those mining days, accents of orange were reinstated on the car too.

Please inquire for more information on recommissioning an old Land Rover of yours. We also have the ability to source you a vehicle and complete the necessary work required to make it both safe and enjoyable.
